An accomplished sound engineer and string player, she also finds time in her busy schedule to work as a studio musician with artists all over the world. Some of the notable artists she has worked with in the studio include Rye Cooder, Alan White (John Lennon), Peter Buck (REM), Dave Tweedy & Stephen Bradley (No Doubt), Brad Houser (Critter's Buggin' and Edie Brickell and the New Bohemians), Bluetech, Vir Unis and Steve Roach, Richard Devine, Sound Tribe Sector 9, Govinda, J.Viewz, Kraddy and edIT.

Rena got her start at age eight, when she began playing the violin. She joined her first band at the age of fifteen. By the age of sixteen she fronted a five member band as a violinist and singer, backed by two drummers, tape loops, synths, bass and guitar.

She moved to Austin, Texas at eighteen and spent the next four and a half years performing with many local artists and contributing to at least four albums before moving to San Francisco in 1999.

Once settled in the Bay Area, Rena quickly began to pursue new musical endeavors including gaining a Bachelors degree in sound design, studying cello under Michael Knapp and collaborating with many Bay Area artists including Lumin, Sound Tribe Sector 9, Gavin Hardkiss, Mark Deutsch, Eenor, Darin Shaffer, Hamsa Lila, Kraddy, and Dhamaal.

Rena's own solo project has been turning heads since her first debut performance in early 2004. Since, she has released a second record and is working on a third to be released on Native State Records all the while touring the US and Europe extensively playing at clubs and festivals along side world renowned DJ's and producers as Tipper, Boom Bip, Ott, Prefuse 73, Lawgiverz, Bassnectar, Adam Freeland, Kenji Williams, Murcof, Sunkite, Photek and Tayo.
