Shen (aka Noah Pred, Sympath)

Taken from the arcane Taoist term for 'refined energy', or 'depth', Shen is Noah Pred's outlet for explorations of electronic dub and mechanized funk. Attuned to the subtle realms of internal environments and expansive atmospheres, Shen applies an acute downtempo sensibility to his post-civilizational musings.

Employing the sounds of technology inherent in an increasingly digitized global culture - while drawing inspiration from the Eastern aesthetics of botanical architecture and geomantic techniques - Shen attempts to evoke organic structures through ecologies of resonant chords, lush textural elements and minimalist computerized grooves.

With tracks slated to appear on Native State Records' upcoming 'Leftcoast Liquid' compilation and a full-length album in the works, keep an ear out for Shen on this year's Ambient Alchemy tour, with dates throughout North America in June and July.
